 Moj prvi uzgojeni češnjak!

Garlic of my own!

Jutros pobran, odmah upleten!
Ovo mi je prvi pokušaj pletenja češnjaka, nije loše ispao.

It came from my garden first thing this morning, and I started brading it right away.
This is my very first attempt, it didn't turn out bad!



Izmjerila sam komad špage cca. 1m; zavezala prvu glavicu i dalje plela kao pletenicu. Špaga se cijelo vrijeme provlačila kroz pletenicu zajedno sa listovima.

I used 1 yard of string; I tied first peace of garlic and knitted on like a brade.




U svaki rešt sam stavila 25 glavica, ne znam zašto točno toliko, ali svi stavljaju tako.

I used 25 garlic in a single brade; everyone told me to use that much.


Kad sam uplela 25 komada, ostatkom špage sam zavezala kraj i napravila uzicu na koju će se objesiti.

I made a hoop at the end so I can hang it.


Kad je ovako upleten, dulje traje. Najvjerovatnije do novoga češnjaka slijedeće ljeto.

When is braded like this, it is supposed to last longer. Possibly untill fresh one arrives next summer.


Objesiti se mora na neko prozračno mjesto, ali u hlad.

It should be hanged at the air, but also in shade.

Jedva čekam ostalo povrće iz vrta!

 I can hardly wait other vegetables from my garden !

  1. Super, čestitam! Ako te to ispunjava, samo napred! Zar nije čudesno posmatrati kako svaki dan raste iz zemlje, iz semena, biljka koja svaki dan postaje sve lepša i veća? Zemlja nam daje život, hrani nas, a mnogi, kako je poštuju?
    I dok ovo pišem, dolazi moja ćerka, koja se upravo najela belog luka.

  5. What else do you grow in your garden? I have tomatoes, broccoli, green peppers, okra, collard greens and hot peppers. The tomatoes are starting to turn red as the weather gets cooler in Chicago.

    1. Green peppers and tomatoes are at the end by now. You and me are at the same latitude, but we are in different climate. We have moderate mediterrian climate.
      I still have some chilli pepers. I have mangold, parsley, celery, some pumpkins, cabbage, collard greens.
      We planted some lettuce, radishes, turnips fo the winter period.
      In a few days we will plant garlic and onions that will be ready in spring/summer time.
      Right now we are in the middle of picking up grapes for the wine, and in about a month will be picking up olives for the oil. But, grapes and olives I haven't got in my garden, we have fields (small plantations).
