An Old Barrel and lots of Fragrant Herbs / Jedna stara bačva i puno mirišljavog bilja



Početak je listopada,
a kod nas pravo bablje ljeto!

It is beginning of October,
but we are having Indian Summer!





Kalendarsko ljeto i nije bilo bog-zna-što;
dosta kiše, nevremena.
Priroda se skroz zbunila, neke biljke koje cvatu ljeti procvale su opet;
šteta je ne iskoristi njihov opojan miris.
Nabrala sam neke i ukrasila jednu staru bačvu.


Real summer wasn't much of it,
lots of rain, storms.
Nature seams to be confused, some summer herbs are blooming again.
It is such a waist not to use their fragrance.
So, I picked some up and decorated this old barrel.





Primorski vrisak miriše jako slatkasto, aromatično.

Winter savory has very sweet and aromatic fragrance.





Lavanda je već malo prošla, ali i dalje lijepo miriše.

Lavender finished with its blooming period, but still smells nice.





Kadulja - osušena će biti vrijedan sastojak domaćeg čaja.

Sage - dried it will become valuable part of homemade tea.





Lovor - kod kuhanja ga koristim i svježeg i osušenog.

Laurel - I use both fresh and dried leaves in my kitchen.





Smilje, vrlo vrijedna biljka, kozmetička industrija je zadnjih godina poludila za njom. 
A mene asocira na rano djetinjstvo kad mi je stara strina moga dida
 plela vjenčiće koje sam nosila kao krunu na glavi cijelo ljeto...

Dwarf everlast, very valuable plant, cosmetic industry has gone crasy for it.
Yet, it reminds me of my early childhood when my grandfather's aunt (very, very old lady) 
used to knit wreaths of it that I wore on my head like a crown all summer long...





Ovo je moj način da ljeto zadržim još samo malo uz nas.

A kad se ove mirisne biljke osuše i dalje će biti lijepi dekor, 
a mogu i poslužiti kao začin ili čaj.


This is my way of trying to hold on to summer a little bit more.

 When these fragrant herbs become dry, they will  make pleasant decor
or I will use them as seasoning or tea.
