Fried Sardines
Napokon srdele na pijaci! 
Nismo ih jeli neko vrijeme, baš smo ih se poželili!
Doduše, nije bili velikih, a da ih je bilo, odmah bi završile na gradelama.
Nisu ni male za baciti :), odlučila sam ih pohati.
Ovo je moj jučerašnji ručak!
Finally, there are some sardines on Fish market!
We didn't have them for a while, we had desired to eat them!
Anyway, there was no bigger ones, if they were bigger, my husband would grilled them.
But, even smaller :), they are valuable food.
This is our yesterday's meal - fried sardines!
Kupljene su dan prije, pa su preko noći malo prokrvarile iz škrga, ne smeta!
 They were purchased the day before so they bled overnight a little from the gills
it doesn't matter!
Pažljivo se obrišu kuhinjskim ubrusom,
odreže se glava i rep, očiste iznutrice,
uz kičmu se lagano zarežu oštrim nožićem, prepolove se,
središnja kost se odvoji i baci. 
Carefully wipe with a kitchen towel,
cut off the head and tail, clean the intestines,
the spine is slightly growled with a sharp knife, halve it,
central bone is separated and cast.
 
Tako se dobiju ovakvi fileti.
That's how you will get these fillets.

Fileti se lagano posole, 
paniraju se u brašnu, jajima i krušnim mrvicama,
te se frigaju u ulju.
Fillets are lightly salted,
paneered in flour, egg and bread crumbs,
and fried in oil.


Uz pohane srdele sam napravila i slani krumpir posut peršinom i začinjen maslacom,
te sezonsku zelenu salatu.
Ovo može biti izvrstan ručak u ovo doba korizme.
With fried sardines I've prepared boiled potatoes sprinkled with parsley and seasoned 
with butter, and seasonal lettuce.
This can be a great lunch at this time of Lent.

  2. Juce sam spominjala sardele sa drugaricom, kad smo smisljale sta doruckovati na poslu. Samo smo se slatko nasmejale :) Doduse, i sa setom, jer smo se setile kako daleko od mora i sveze ribe zivimo...

  4. Ja sam za ribu u svako doba, a pošto mi se ovih dana mnoo, mnoo jela, otišla sam u ribarnicu i kupila prženu. Bila je vrela, baš kako ja volim, tek izvađena iz friteze, pa sam je jela usput, do kuće, a kući sam donela skušu. Odmah smo je spremili, tako da mi je pauza između dva riblja obroka bila punih sat vremena.

  6. Uf šta mi radiš? Kako se meni ovdje sanja po svježi ribi iz Jadrana!! Što god kupim nije mi dobro jer mi je zauvijek ostao onaj božanstveni ukus svježe ribe, pofrigane nakon samo par sati...Sardele frigane ili na gradele, mogla bi jesti svaki dan:) Odlično!

  7. Srdele su odlična hrana :) Moja ih nona radi na jedan poseban način.. u marinadi koja ima unutra svašta, znam da je aceto balsamico i limun sigurno, ali ne znam što još ide unutra.. ja se davim u tome :D Tvoja kombinacija je baš fina!!

  8. When I see this, I think of summer vacation! Because when I get to the seaside, I stand in a looong line and buy myself a double dish of fried sardines (but not with potatoes, with garlic and polenta). Good food for the soul!

    1. yes, sardines are considered "summer" food, but we eat them a lot during the year, they are very healthy, Omega3 and so on...

  11. girice su puno manje od srdela, ali ponekad se i male srdelice prodaju pod girice. girice se obično ne čiste i frigaju se cijele. ali, od sela do sela se drukčije kaže :)
