Namaz od patlidžana / Eggplant Spread

Namaz od patlidžana
Eggplant Spread
Kod nas vlada lijepo vrijeme,
vrt donosi dosta plodova.
Još uvijek se nađe pokoji patlidžan.
Odlučila sam napraviti namaz od patlidžana,
neku vrstu paštete, mogli bi reći.

It is a pleasant time around here,
garden brings a lot of fruit.
I still find the occasional eggplant.
I decided to do a spread of eggplant,
a sort of pate, I might say.

Patlidžan se izreže na fete pa preprži na tavi, bez masnoće.
Ili, ako vam se ne da stajati kraj špakera,
stavi se u komadu u pećnicu i peče na visokoj temperaturi.

You may cut the slices and fry them on a pan, no fat added.
Or, in case you don't want to stand by the stove,
bake it in a oven at high temperature in one piece.

 Kad se patlidžan speče,
unutarnji dio se jednostavno ostruže sa žlicom.

When you bake an eggplant in one piece,
you can easily scrape off the inside with a spoon.

Ja sam spekla 3 patlidžana,
podjelila sastruganu masu na 3 dijela,
jedan dio izmiksala, druga 2 zamrznula za drugi put.

I baked 3 eggplants,
devided it into 3 parts,
I blanded 1 part, and 2 left to freeze for another time.

Tada sam u mikser dodala malo majoneze,
maslinovog ulja, soli, papra, narezanog peršina i češnjaka,
te malo maslina.
Možete dodati što želite.

I added some mayo, olive oil, salt and pepper,
chopped parsley and garlic, some olives.
You may add what you like most.

Kad mi se okus svidio,
ulila sam u staklenku i u frižider.

When I liked its taste,
I poured it into glass jars. Store it a fridge.

This time the spread turned out to be slightly rarer,
because I choose not to fry its slices in a pan,
but to bake it in one piece.
In that case, more fluids remains inside.

I myself didin't mind about it, but I had some complaints later on ;)
Oh, well...

Kome se sviđa okus patlidžana, tome će se svidjeti ovaj namaz.
Dobar tek!
Uživajte u lijepim danima!

If you like eggplant, you will like how this spread tastes like, too.
Bon appetite!
Enjoy this nice weather!

  5. Mmmm Mmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmmm!
This is traditional in my country, too! But we use only the olive oil instead of the mayonnaise (watching out for bad cholesterol) and we use LOTS of chopped onions instead of garlic.
